The holiday spirit is short-lived for Jerry North and his wife Pam when they return home to find a dead body in their liquor closet. The victim is Stanley Brent, the estranged husband of their friend Carol Brent. As they investigate, they discover that someone in their social circle must have gained access to their apartment, invited Brent to meet them there, and then murdered him.
