A group of young friends, including Steve, Tommy, Pig, Ape, and String, are run out of town. After Steve's death, the boys meet his mother, Alice, who owns a storage garage with Mack. Tommy finds work at the garage, while Steve's brother Don secretly works with gangsters to hijack valuable goods, planning to frame Tommy for the next heist.
