In 1970s Greece, a pre-teen boy named Stavros experiences a mysterious connection between his awakening emotions and the subversion of classical myths, causing physical symptoms in those around him. As his parents seek answers, a fortune-teller diagnoses a rare, ancient disease linked to being in love. The boy's affliction affects not only his personal life but also the political arena as he navigates university and the aftermath of the military junta's collapse.
