A naive and idealistic socialite, Diana, appears to be the life of the party, but beneath the surface, she is driven by virtue and high moral standards. Her friend Ann, on the other hand, is self-centered and devoid of morals. Both women are drawn to Ben Blaine, a soon-to-be millionaire, with Diana initially playing hard to get, leading Ben to mistakenly believe she's not interested. He ultimately proposes to her amoral friend Ann, setting the stage for a catastrophic mistake.
