Pete Kelly's Blues background

Pete Kelly's Blues

In the vibrant atmosphere of the Roaring Twenties, a jazz band's rise to fame is put to the test as they face a difficult decision: sacrificing their artistic vision for financial stability or risking everything to stay true to their craft.

In 1920s Kansas City, a jazz band led by Pete Kelly performs at a secret nightclub, but their livelihood is threatened when a ruthless gangster starts to exert control over them. When their drummer is murdered, Kelly reluctantly agrees to the gangster's demands, including hiring the thug's troubled girlfriend as a singer. However, Kelly soon comes to regret his decision, as the only redeeming quality in his life becomes the sophisticated and alluring Ivy.
