Captain Phillip Kent and Sergeant Pio embark on a secret mission to deliver new guns to the Californians, who are fighting against Spanish royalists disguised as pirates. Along the way, they meet two women, Marguerita and Filomena, and reluctantly agree to escort them to their destination. However, the women suddenly disappear, leaving the men to reach Monterey, where they are greeted by Phillip's friend Lieutenant Ortega, who is engaged to Marguerita.
