On a small island in China, the peaceful life of mandarin ducks is disrupted when a flock of military mallards, led by Duckmus, mistakenly land on the island. The mallards' arrival sparks a Cold War between the two groups, as the mandarin ducks' Emperor is displeased with the uninvited guests. Meanwhile, Longway, the heir to the mandarin ducks' Emperor, falls in love with Erica, Duckmus's daughter, and their children are oblivious to the conflict between their fathers. As leaders struggle to maintain relationships, Longway becomes embroiled in trouble when two bumbling thieves from the human town, hired by the Old Witch, begin hunting him. It is revealed that Longway is the fabled "Sun Duck," possessing superhuman abilities and the power to harness the sun's energy. The Old Witch seeks to exploit this power for eternal youth and solar energy.
