Michael Gross, a renowned individual, was born in 1947 in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, to Virginia Ruth Cahill, a dedicated telephone operator, and William Oscar Gross, a skilled tool designer. During his formative years, Gross was involved with a gang for a brief period, only to redirect his focus and excel academically, ultimately becoming the senior class president.
Gross's academic pursuits led him to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree from the esteemed Yale University School of Drama. Prior to embarking on an acting career, he honed his craft in the theater. His journey eventually took him to New York, where he launched his acting career, which ultimately culminated in his breakout role on the popular television show Family Ties in 1982.
Since the conclusion of Family Ties, Gross has been involved in a wide range of projects, including three installments of the In the Line of Duty film series, narrating audio books, and perhaps most notably, portraying the iconic character Burt in the beloved Tremors film franchise, which began with the release of Tremors in 1990.
