Nathan, an anthropology student, is disappointed that the modern world neglects ancient Chumash rituals. He convinces his professor, Nash, to take their class on a field trip to his family's old ranch, where they can learn about the rites of passage ceremony. Unbeknownst to them, the ranch is home to two drug-addicted lunatics, Benny and Delgado, who have their own agenda. Benny becomes obsessed with Dani, a half-Chumash and half-British student, and kidnaps her. As the students try to escape, they are hunted down by Delgado, who seeks revenge against Dani for a past tragedy.
