Thank You, Good Night background

Thank You, Good Night

A group of rockers from the 1990s garage band scene embark on a farewell tour to pursue their dream of stardom and escape the monotony of their 9-to-5 office lives.

The Handy Kaufmans, a struggling rock band from New Jersey, embark on one final tour in April 1994, four years after forming. With Kurt Cobain's recent suicide, they're determined to make it big or resign themselves to mundane office jobs. The band's leader, Lee, is a control freak who struggles to finish tasks, while Mike, the chief songwriter, idolizes tortured rock icons. Donnie, the lead singer, is a womanizer, and Big Frank, the manager, is incompetent but kind-hearted. After their bassist's accidental electrocution, they're joined by Trixie, a wild and talented bassist who reignites Lee's romantic feelings. The tour takes them across the Midwest and New York State, where they must overcome their personal demons to reach their final gig at a state fair.
