The Purple Rose of Cairo

In 1930s New Jersey, a waitress named Cecilia seeks a break from her mundane life during the Great Depression. After losing her job, she finds solace in a movie, only to be surprised when the charismatic archaeologist Tom Baxter steps off the screen and into her life. However, Tom's existence is a secret, and the film industry is in chaos as other Tom Baxters try to escape the silver screen in other theaters. Can Tom return to the film and complete his story, or will he choose to stay in the real world with Cecilia?
