A young soldier deserts the army after a traumatic experience, wounding his commanding officer in the process. Disguising himself as a girl, he joins a gypsy caravan, where he's mistaken for a seer. As he regains composure, he develops feelings for a gypsy girl, causing tension within the group, and ultimately leading to a confrontation with his former commanding officer.
