Two siblings, Berenice and Brian, grow up in the countryside, fueled by a book on local myths and legends. Berenice convinces Brian she's a witch reincarnate, capable of fixing everything. As they age, Brian becomes emotionally tied to his sister, feeling betrayed when she returns home for Christmas with a new boyfriend. Meanwhile, a man resembling mythical Jake the Mid-Folker closes in, shrouding the house in an ominous sense of impending horror - but is the threat outside or within?
