A young girl named Jeliza-Rose is forced to escape her home life with her parents, who are struggling with drug addiction. She travels with her father, a rock musician, to his mother's rural home, where they face a bleak and uncertain future. As her father's health begins to decline, Jeliza's imagination runs wild and she finds solace in a fantastical world, where she and her dolls come to life. Along the way, she meets a cast of eccentric characters, including Dell and his intellectually disabled brother Dickens, who help shape her journey.
