Music teacher Carly Bridges leaves her hometown of Philadelphia to take a temporary job in small town Waterford Creek, where she's hired to prepare the church choir for Christmas Eve services. She finds the choir is made up of individuals who sing alone, and her task is to make them harmonize together. Meanwhile, hometown boy Matthew Wheeler returns from the military, planning to buy a house, become a firefighter, and confess his romantic feelings to his childhood best friend, Jenny Shepard.
