In 1947, a radio operator in New Mexico discovers a mysterious signal, only to vanish while investigating. Years later, the same signal resurfaces, emanating from the Falkland Islands and captured by a satellite over Antarctica. Cryptologist Julien Rome is dispatched to the South Pole to unravel the mystery, where he uncovers a cryptic message warning against opening a strange, otherworldly container.
