In ancient Jerusalem, Governor Pontius Pilate faces a difficult decision during Passover. He offers the crowd a choice between releasing Jesus of Nazareth or the murderer Barabbas, but the people demand Barabbas' freedom instead. Jesus takes Barabbas' place on the cross, and Barabbas is sent to a life of hardship in Sicily's sulphur mines and Emperor Nero's Coliseum.

Barabbas
A former prisoner, Barabbas, is unexpectedly freed from his cell, while Jesus is sentenced to death for being deemed a heretic, leading to a profound transformation in Barabbas.
