A misfit befriends the fearless head of a group of fearless rats.
Danny Garrison, a lonely boy, forms an unlikely bond with Ben, the leader of a rat swarm trained by Willard Stiles. Ben becomes Danny's confidant, shielding him from bullies and boosting his morale amidst a heart condition. But as the swarm's behavior turns violent, claiming multiple lives, their friendship is put to the test.
