In the picturesque Merced River Canyon, the Yosemite Valley Railroad is on the verge of collapse. A young man, the grandson of a Chinese railroad worker, risks everything to save the railroad from demolition, pursuing a doomed passion. Despite finding a wealthy backer, the railroad's financial struggles make his efforts futile. The film also explores the rampant anti-Asian racism in post-WWII America.
