Cuadecuc, vampir

Vampir-Cuadecuc is a key film in understanding the transition from the "new cinemas" to illegal and clandestine filmmaking practices in Spain during the Franco regime. The film shows the making of a commercial film, Count Dracula, by Jesús Franco, but with a twist. The director, Pere Portabella, eliminates color and replaces the soundtrack with a soundscape by Carles Santos, creating a surreal and provocative film that critiques the dominant narrative cinema.
