In the early 20th century, Emir Nesib of Hobeika defeats Sultan Amar of Salma, creating a no-man's-land and agreeing to raise Amar's sons alongside his own children. Fifteen years later, the discovery of oil in the Yellow Belt sparks a new conflict between the two tribes. Emir Nesib seeks to modernize his tribe, but the American Company's exploitation of the oil field violates the peace pact.
