Eddie Ogden, a talented young baseball player, discovers a passion for cooking and decides to secretly enroll in a home economics class with his friends. Despite initial teasing from his brothers and classmates, Eddie and his friend Bridget, a shy and nerdy student, enter a national cooking competition for schoolkids. To Eddie's surprise, his mother and teacher prove to be supportive, with the teacher having won the competition herself in the past.
