A family man and factory worker, Jean, pursues his dream of becoming a songwriter through his awkward and overweight teenage daughter, Marva, at singing contests. After being fired due to cutbacks, Jean becomes desperate and kidnaps a famous pop star, demanding to be heard by the music industry.
