A man, recently fired from his sales job due to his excessive drinking, finds himself homeless and living on his front lawn after his wife kicks him out. With the help of his cop friend, he decides to hold a yard sale to make the situation legal. As he begins to sell his belongings, he forms connections with a neighborhood kid and a pregnant woman who has just moved in across the street, ultimately finding a new sense of purpose and moving on from his past.
