Fantômas, a notorious criminal with numerous disguises, becomes enraged when a journalist publishes a fictional interview featuring his alter ego. In response, Fantômas kidnaps the journalist, threatening to kill him unless he ruins his reputation by committing a high-profile crime in his likeness. As the authorities close in, led by Commissaire Juve, Fantômas continues to outwit them by adopting their identities. Fandor, the journalist, and his girlfriend Hélène team up with Juve to track down the elusive mastermind, but as the cat-and-mouse game unfolds, it's unclear who will ultimately be in control.
