Girls About Town background

Girls About Town

A cunning pair exploits the wealth of older men, but one of them stumbles upon an unexpected romantic entanglement with a charismatic young millionaire.

A risqué pre-code comedy follows two gold-digging women, Kay Francis and Lilyan Tashman, as they charm and manipulate lonely businessmen at conventions. The wealthy suitors shower the women with lavish gifts, but Francis finds herself smitten with a poor but virtuous man, Joel McCrea. Meanwhile, Tashman's copper king beau, Eugene Paulette, presents her with stunning jewelry, leading his wife to try to emulate her rival's style in a humorous display of marital bliss.
