Upper-class brothers Julien and François return to a Catholic boarding school in the countryside after summer break. Tensions arise when new student Jean Bonnet, a Jewish boy hiding from the Nazis, arrives at the school. Despite initial friction, Julien comes to respect Jean and learns to keep his secret. As friendships deepen, the boys must navigate the challenges of war and the arrival of the Gestapo at their school.
