Marley Kennedy, a proposal planner, is tasked with helping her best friend's boyfriend, Grant, propose to her on their anniversary. The catch is that the proposal must take place at an apple orchard in Ohio, where Grant's girlfriend, Lara, grew up. Marley's plan hits a snag when she meets Curt, one of the orchard's owners, who is initially resistant to the idea. As they work together, Marley and Curt start to develop feelings for each other, but their budding relationship is complicated by Curt's debt, his sister's struggles, and his painful past with his ex-girlfriend.
