Lara, a Canadian actress of mixed South Asian and French Canadian heritage, has had a prolific career spanning two decades across film, television, and commercial mediums. Her extensive experience in kids television has been marked by standout performances in popular shows such as Monster Warriors, where she held a leading role in 52 episodes, as well as numerous credits across the Family Channel and Nickelodeon networks.
After a five-year hiatus to focus on her family and raise her two children, Lara returned to the industry with renewed passion and dedication. Her notable film and television credits include Flashpoint, Private Eyes, Warehouse 13, and Land of the Dead, demonstrating her versatility as a performer.
In recent years, Lara has appeared in a range of projects, including the lead role in the Lifetime Original film Deadly Mom Retreat, the CBC/Netflix series Workin' Moms, the UP TV movie Country Hearts, the Hallmark films Operation Nutcracker and Mistletoe Murders, the CW series Wild Cards, and the Lifetime movie Locked In My House.
Lara's upcoming projects for 2024 and 2025 are equally impressive, with a recurring supporting role in the new Hallmark series Mistletoe Murders, a guest starring role on the popular Nickelodeon animated show Paw Patrol, and the Paramount/Amazon Prime film Cross.
In addition to her on-screen work, Lara has expanded her creative reach as a writer, with an award-winning script for her short film "Reject" currently in pre-production. She has also written scripts for multiple television projects, all of which are in development.
Lara's passion for wine has led her to earn industry-leading certifications, including the Wine Specialist Certificate, WSET 3 designation, and Italian Wine Scholar Certification. She has collaborated with food influencer Harley Morenstein on the Thrillist show Wine and Cheeseburger, and hopes to merge her love of wine with her other passions in the future.
Lara works closely with her husband, celebrated Canadian film and television producer Alex Jordan, to bring stories to life that reflect her diverse background as a mixed-race woman with young children. Their upcoming short film Freeborn, a post-apocalyptic thriller, is set to be released in 2025.
