Landrush background

Landrush

In the lawless town of Border Plain, a lone surveyor named Steve Harmon arrives to stake his claim on the coveted Spur, but his plans are threatened by the notorious outlaw gang led by the ruthless Claw Hawkins.

A former city dweller, Steve Harmon, arrives in Border Plain to survey the land known as the Spur, which is about to be opened to homesteaders. However, a notorious gang, led by Claw Hawkins, has been wreaking havoc in the area, suspected of murdering a Pony Express rider. When Jake Parker, the owner of the local newspaper office, finds a marked $100 bill stolen from the rider, he seeks the help of Steve and Sheriff Tim Collins. Steve, donning the disguise of the Durango Kid, kidnaps Hawkins and hides him in a carpentry shop, where Jake begins to spread the word about the Spur's opening to settlement. As the land rush begins, the Hawkins gang tries to cheat the system by starting a prairie fire to clear the land. But Steve, as the Durango Kid, thwarts their plans by helping the settlers dig fire ditches and intervening when the gang tries to claim land in the Spur.
