Joan Stanley, a British civil servant with sympathies for the Soviet Union and Communist Party, is recruited by the KGB in the 1930s and secretly transfers nuclear bomb secrets to Soviet Russia, allowing them to keep pace with Western development of atomic weapons, remaining undetected for over 50 years.
