Tom, a British war veteran, is haunted by the traumatic events of his past after a devastating ambush in a farm building. Despite being decorated for his bravery, he's unable to shake off the evil images and finds solace in his nomadic lifestyle. In Tokyo, he meets Asami, a Japanese woman who's also an outsider due to her mixed race and job at a Love Hotel. As they bond over dinner and sake, Tom's spirits lift, but his redemption is threatened by the visions of his past.
