Smoky Canyon background

Smoky Canyon

A lone hero embarks on a perilous quest to clear the name of an innocent man, amidst a backdrop of escalating tensions between rival ranchers fighting for dominance over the land and their livestock.

Government agent Steve Brent, also known as the Durango Kid, becomes entangled in a bitter range war between cattlemen and sheepmen in Timber Rock. The cattlemen, seeking to drive up prices, slaughter their herds and blame the sheepmen for the destruction. Jack Mahoney, leader of the sheepmen, is falsely accused of murdering rancher Jim Woodstock, leading to a rift with Woodstock's daughter Roberta, who breaks off their engagement. Brent goes undercover among the cattlemen to uncover the true killer, while Smiley Burnette performs the song "It's Got To Get Better".
