The Galactic Republic is threatened when the Trade Federation blockades the planet Naboo, prompting the Jedi Council to send Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi to negotiate a peaceful resolution. However, the Federation's Viceroy Nute Gunray has other plans, and the Jedi must escape and join forces with the Gungan native Jar Jar Binks to warn Queen Amidala of the impending invasion.
