Two widower businessmen, desperate for a tax break, concoct a scheme to pass off their friendship as a romantic relationship to take advantage of a loophole in Australia's tax laws. However, their plan is soon exposed when a busybody in their small town discovers their ruse. As a tax inspector prepares to investigate, the men must quickly learn to convincingly play the part of a gay couple, enlisting the help of a local hairstylist and a visit to a Sydney nightclub.
