The Cross and the Switchblade

The 1970s film "The Cross and The Switchblade" tells the true story of Pastor David Wilkerson, who befriends and converts Nicky Cruz, a notorious gang member.

David Wilkerson, a young parish priest, travels to New York City to spread the word of God to a group of violent gang members, the Egyptian Kings. Despite initial setbacks, he meets a street youth named Little Bo, who introduces him to the Mau Maus and Bishops, rival gangs fighting for territory. David's goal is to show the gangs that God loves them, regardless of their actions, and guide them towards making better choices. He faces resistance, particularly from Nicky Cruz, a Mau Maus leader who continually threatens him.
