A devout farmer, Nathan Crane, struggles to preserve his family's land and maintain order at home. Meanwhile, a ruthless real estate developer seeks to acquire most of the local farmland, including the Crane property, in hopes of attracting the Tennesse Valley Authority to build a new dam and recreational area. But when a mysterious, glowing object crashes on the Crane farm during a fierce storm, a terrible curse descends upon the Crane family and the community.
