Ray Kroc, a seasoned salesman, has spent his adult life hustling to provide for his family. He's been peddling novelty products, but it's his latest job selling five-spindle milkshake makers that takes him on the road, visiting drive-in restaurants. Disillusioned with the drive-in experience, he discovers McDonald's Restaurant in San Bernardino, California, owned by brothers Dick and Mac. The brothers have revolutionized the drive-in concept by focusing on quality food, consistency, and speed. They franchise their business, but struggle to maintain control. Ray, hired as the head of franchising, faces challenges as his franchisees make more money than he does. His priorities clash with the brothers', leading to a standoff.
