Twelve-year-old Josh's perfect summer is disrupted when a giant shopping center moves into town, threatening his family's home. Determined to save his family and home, Josh sets out on a treasure hunt with his dog Marley and new friend Ana to find a fabled local treasure of gold left behind by the Conquistadors. However, they are not the only ones searching for the treasure, as two nefarious hoodlums, Wade and Scarecrow, also join the hunt. Along the way, Josh and his friends must contend with booby traps, a treacherous forest, and a perilous cavern, learning that true friendship and understanding are more important than wealth.
