A 17-year-old runaway and an 8-year-old girl who lost her family and voice find refuge in a strange old lady's house, Mayoiga, a legendary shelter for lost travelers. As they heal from their emotional wounds, they encounter magical beings, known as Fushigitto, in the old house overlooking the sea.
