In the midst of a gruesome serial killer case, Inspector Vorobechik, also known as Wens, takes on the challenge of identifying the killer, who leaves a distinctive calling card on each victim. His mistress, actress Mila Malou, sees an opportunity to gain fame by assisting Wens in his investigation. As Wens goes undercover as a Protestant minister at a boarding house, Mila surprisingly follows him, pretending to be his wife.
