In the small town of Pleasant Valley, 14-year-old Gunther Wheeler navigates a new environment after moving from New York City. He soon catches the eye of his crush, beautiful blonde Allison Robbins. Determined to ask her out, Gunther faces a financial hurdle when tickets to see his favorite band, Screamin' Banchees, become unaffordable. To raise the $150 needed, Gunther takes on a paper route with a group of misfits known as "The Nerd Herd."
