A young law student, Anoop, is introduced to a potential bride, Vidya, by his mother. However, he meets another woman, Minoo, and falls in love with her instead. Despite his mother's reservations, Anoop marries Minoo, only to discover she lacks maturity, education, and household skills. Minoo's interests include stealing fruit and playing with younger children. As Anoop prepares to return to Calcutta, he asks Minoo to join him, but she refuses.
