Adel L. Morales, a seasoned educator with a 17-year tenure as a high school English teacher, decided to embark on a new creative journey, leaving behind the familiar confines of the classroom to pursue his long-held passion for filmmaking.
Born and raised in the vibrant and culturally rich borough of the Bronx, Morales' educational background is marked by academic excellence, having earned a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from Pace University, a renowned institution known for its strong liberal arts programs.
Furthermore, Morales' academic credentials also include a Master's degree in English from Lehman College/CUNY, a prestigious institution within the City University of New York system, which has a long history of producing talented and accomplished scholars.
Notably, Morales's passion for filmmaking was first ignited through his involvement in numerous student films, which ultimately led to the establishment of HollyHood Productions, Inc. in June 2004.
By the year 2008, the company had successfully produced a diverse range of creative projects, including six captivating short films, a side-splitting sketch comedy show, and a thought-provoking 6-episode web series.
In addition to his work in the entertainment industry, Morales also dedicated his time and expertise to the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP),serving as the President of the New York Chapter for a period of two years, starting from 2008.
In the year 2011, Morales made a notable appearance in the highly-acclaimed Sundance feature film "Gun Hill Road", alongside working as an assistant to the director, providing valuable support and expertise to the creative team.
He then went on to further his education and training by attending the prestigious New York University Graduate School of Film Program, where he had the opportunity to hone his skills and gain hands-on experience by producing not one, but two feature-length films, as well as an impressive twenty short films.
Moreover, Morales showcased his impressive range and versatility by writing and directing no less than seven of these productions, demonstrating his ability to excel in multiple roles and take on a variety of creative challenges.
Morales, a talented individual with a passion for the world of cinema, successfully completed his Master of Fine Arts degree in Film Production from the esteemed Tisch School of the Arts in May 2018. This remarkable achievement is a testament to his dedication and perseverance in pursuing his artistic endeavors.
