Shaw's academic journey began with a Creative Arts foundation course at a renowned institution, where he honed his skills in theatre and dance. He then pursued an Expressive Arts degree at Sussex University, delving into performance and visual art, including film and video. After a year, he transferred to Harrow College in London to continue his BA degree in Film, Television, and Photography, further refining his craft.
Following his academic pursuits, Shaw's talents caught the attention of a production company, The Oil Factory, which offered him a chance to direct and art-direct music videos. This led to a stint in the adult entertainment industry in the early 1990s, where he rose to fame as one of the most celebrated stars of all time.
Concurrently, Shaw became involved with a music collective in London, spearheaded by the enigmatic Leigh Bowery, known as The Offset. As the frontman of his post-apocalyptic, art-house-punk band, Whatever, he wrote songs and produced two albums, touring extensively throughout Europe and the US.
Shaw's creative endeavors extended beyond music, as he co-authored a collection of short stories with NY-based Mark Beard in 1990. This marked the beginning of his literary career, which would yield eight novels over the next few years, with his last publication in 2010. He also contributed to various international magazines and worked as a contributing editor for the cult NY-based Interiors Shaw magazine NEST.
By 2010, Shaw had solidified his status as one of the world's most celebrated fashion models, signing with prominent modeling agencies such as Models1 (London),IMG models (NY),Success models (Paris),SIGHT Model Management (Barcelona),and Why Not Model Management (Milan).
In the following years, Shaw continued to nurture his artistic pursuits, attending acting classes at the Actors Temple, AMAW (Anthony Meindl),and The Actors Centre (London) from 2014 to 2015, further honing his skills as a performer.
