Biography

Almeera Jiwa is a multifaceted artist from Vancouver, British Columbia, boasting a diverse range of experience in film, stage, and voice acting.

As a child, Almeera's passion for performing began at the tender age of five, with community and school theatre productions. By the age of 12, she landed her first television role on the children's program "Tell-A-Tale-Town," where she wrote and performed a story for a live audience. This early success sparked the interest of local talent agents, who encouraged Almeera to pursue a professional acting career.

By the age of 17, Almeera had secured the lead role in her first film, "Soulstice," marking a significant milestone in her early career. As a high school senior, Almeera was torn between her interests in acting and business, but with the support of her family, she decided to attend Vancouver's prestigious Studio 58 theatre training conservatory.

At Studio 58, Almeera received comprehensive training in both directing and acting, which allowed her to develop a unique skillset that would enable her to tell stories as an actress, director, and producer. This experience not only honed her craft but also granted her a deeper understanding of the business side of the industry.

Upon graduating from Studio 58, Almeera went on to play lead and ingenue roles in some of Vancouver's largest theatre companies, as well as secure parts in major network television shows. She also produced numerous performances and productions around the city, including a notable appearance at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

In 2011, Almeera relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, to further her acting career in the city's thriving film industry. In addition to landing roles in film, television, and commercials, Almeera produced and starred in two award-winning short films and created an entertainment show featuring interviews with celebrities such as John Legend, Steve Harvey, and America Ferrera.

Throughout her career, Almeera has been committed to giving back to her community. She has served on the advisory boards for Atlanta's Alliance Theatre and Actor's Express Theatre, and has also been an active alumna of Georgia State University, where she earned a degree in communications with a focus on public relations and journalism.

Almeera's impressive list of credits includes appearances in Nickelodeon's "Romeo" and "The Troop," USA Networks' "Psych," SYFY's "Sanctuary," and FOX's "Star." Most recently, she played the role of Anam in the feature film "Shaft," opposite the legendary Samuel L. Jackson.
