Biography

Amanda grew up in the vibrant neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen, New York, where she began her career as an actress, studying under the guidance of Deborah Hedwall and at The Bill Esper Studio. Her first SAG project, hired by the late Sidney Lumet, marked the beginning of her journey in the film industry.

However, Amanda soon discovered that her true passions lay behind the camera, and she made the decision to shift her focus to writing and directing. To hone her skills, she worked as a Production Assistant on the sets of renowned filmmakers such as Woody Allen, Bobby Moresco, and David Chase, while also raising her two children.

As her career progressed, Amanda moved into the writer's room as Bobby Moresco's writer's assistant, where she learned the intricacies of storytelling, working with prominent figures such as Paul Haggis, Todd Field, John Lee Hancock, Mark Johnson, Gil Adler, and various television networks and film studios.

Amanda's writing credits include co-writing two episodes of NBC's The Black Donnelly's during its first season, as well as writing for Creative Screenwriting magazine and publishing a short story about the dangers of Hollywood on Nikki Finke's Hollywood Dementia.

As a screenwriter, Amanda has had two feature films produced, with three more currently in development. Her passion for directing is evident in her three short films, which have garnered 10 award nominations on the festival circuit. Her latest short, "Agiter", filmed on location in Paris, is currently in post-production.

Amanda's journey has not been limited to film, as she has also made a significant impact in the world of theater. She is currently Co-Artistic Director of The Actors Gym in New York City, a theater company founded by Bobby Moresco over 30 years ago. Her one-act play, "A Hell's Kitchen Love Tragedy", which premiered at The Actors Gym, received rave reviews from Broadway World.

Amanda is also developing her one-act play into a full-length piece, featuring three generations of Irish American women from Hell's Kitchen, exploring themes of family, gentrification, love, and loss. Her theater credits also include the Los Angeles workshop of William Hoffman's "Cal in Camo", which went on to a critically acclaimed Off-Broadway run at New York's Rattlestick Theater.

Amanda is a member of the Actors Studio Directors Unit in New York, where she resides with her husband and two children.
