Actress Amy Forsyth, a native of Ontario, embarked on her performing arts journey at a local dance studio in Stouffville, a small town northeast of Toronto, where she initially developed a passion for ballet. As she grew, her interest transitioned to musical theatre, and after a decade of performing, she signed with an agent to explore the realms of film and television.
In 2018, Amy took on the lead role in the CBS Studios' horror film Hell Fest, directed by Gregory Plotkin, who is also known for his work on the Paranormal Activity franchise. The film tells the chilling tale of a masked serial killer who transforms a horror-themed amusement park into his own personal slaughterhouse, replete with gruesome and terrifying scenes.
Amy will also be seen in a supporting role alongside Steve Carell and Timothée Chalamet in the Plan B film Beautiful Boy, set to premiere on October 12th. In this powerful drama, Amy plays a teenage drug addict who Carell enlists to help him find his missing son, a poignant and emotional portrayal that showcases her remarkable acting abilities.
Amy's passion for musical theatre and television recently merged in the form of a series regular role in NBC's critically-acclaimed series "RISE", where she plays Gwen Strickland, the queen bee of Stanton High School's theatre department. Her versatility as an actress is further exemplified by her starring role in the second season of Syfy's "Channel Zero", a series based on popular creepypastas with self-contained seasons similar to American Horror Story.
Prior to her recent successes, Amy was best known for her role alongside Aaron Paul and Hugh Dancy in Hulu's "The Path", where she played Ashley Fields, a complex and multifaceted character that showcased her impressive range as an actress.
