Amyn Kaderali is an award-winning filmmaker, renowned for his exceptional ability to lead sets with vision, efficiency, humor, and kindness. With over 20 episodes of television under his belt, he has demonstrated his versatility by directing a wide range of genres, from hospital dramas to crime sagas, supernatural thrillers, and more.
Notably, Amyn's first episodic directing opportunity came after completing the Disney/ABC Directing Fellowship, which led to him directing multiple episodes of popular shows such as Supernatural, The Resident, Grey's Anatomy, and Walker. He has also worked on TNT's Animal Kingdom and the CW's Charmed, The 100, and The Winchesters.
As a natural storyteller, Amyn has also found success as a screenwriter, penning romantic comedies such as Netflix's Holiday Calendar, Lifetime's Grounded for Christmas, Open By Christmas for Hallmark, GAC's A Kindhearted Christmas, A Lot Like Christmas, and Aurora Christmas. His upcoming project, Holly Bolly Christmas for Lifetime, is set to be released this summer.
Amyn's feature film debut, the provocative romantic comedy Kissing Cousins, won the Audience Choice Award at the Asian American Int'l Film Festival and led to opportunities in the ABC/Disney Directing Program and the Warner Brothers Television Directing Workshop.
Amyn's filmmaking journey began at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Film Program, where his second-year film Little Man garnered awards worldwide, including Best Short Film at the Slamdance Film Festival. He went on to create Take The A Train, starring Kerry Washington, and the outsourcing comedy, Call Center, a viral Internet hit.
In 2010, Amyn directed The Other Side for PBS/ITVS's Futurestates series, which explored the controversial issue of illegal immigration. Since 2023, he has been teaching a filmmaking class for incarcerated men at San Quentin Prison, an experience he finds deeply fulfilling.
Throughout his career, Amyn has been a member of the Directors Guild of America, the Writers Guild of America, and the Writers Guild of Canada.
