Andra Nechita is a Romanian-born actress who has made a significant impact in both television and film. Born in Onesti, Romania, to parents Lenuta and Doru Nechita, she was exposed to the arts from a very young age, initially developing a passion for singing. When she was just five years old, her family relocated to Dublin, Ireland, where she learned English and discovered a love for movies, often watching films after school.
As she grew older, Andra's family moved to Los Angeles, where she was encouraged by her parents to take an acting class to help her break out of her shell. She quickly discovered a passion for acting and, within months, had mastered reading, writing, and speaking English fluently, also refining an American accent along the way. She continued to hone her craft and soon landed her first feature film role in Bad Teacher (2011),alongside Cameron Diaz, Jason Segel, and Justin Timberlake.
Andra's early success was followed by appearances in a number of other films and television shows, including How I Met Your Mother (2005),reuniting her with Jason Segel, as well as roles in Cats Dancing on Jupiter (2011),Kara: A Star Wars Story (2016),and Inhumans (2017). In 2020, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from UCLA, graduating Cum Laude with a double minor in Anthropology and Music Industry.
Since then, Andra has continued to build her career, starring in a number of notable projects, including FBI: International (2021),Fatal Attraction (2023),The Sex Lives of College Girls (2021),Matlock (2024) opposite Kathy Bates, and LD Entertainment's upcoming thriller Bone Lake (2024). Bone Lake premiered at the 57th Sitges Film Festival, the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival, and Fantastic Fest, demonstrating Andra's continued success in the entertainment industry.
